6 Months!
Today is Julian’s 6 month birthday. We celebrate his birthday every month, but this one is obviously a big one. Mommy made the coolest birthday hat I’ve ever seen. I can’t wait to get home to them and eat his birthday cake. I bet Julian wishes he could eat his cake too!!

A long drive...
This Sunday we drove up to the Marysville outlet stores. We realized just before we left, that this was actually going to be the furthest Julian has ever been from home. That’s probably a bit funny since it’s only about 30-45 minutes away. Other than crying the entire way there it was a blast. He loved being outside and seeing all the people. Luckily, Mom sat in the backseat on the...
Solid Food!
Today was Julian’s 4 month birthday. It also meant he was ready to start solid food! Well sort of. He can have a few spoons full of rice cereal mixed with breast milk. But at least it’s a start! He’s doing well so far. I can’t say he “loves” it. But it’s fun to watch him get that goop all over his face.

Santa's Helper
Since it’s been snowing every day here in Seattle, we decided to cure the boredom by dressing up Julian in his little Santa suit his Grandma bought him. I have to say this might be my favorite photo of him so far. View more photos on our flickr page.
Dad's new camera
For Daddy’s birthday Grandma bought him an amazing new camera! Here is one of the first photos I shot with it. The detail and color are so drastically better than our last camera. So be prepared for amazingly awesome photos of Julian in the near future!
Julian hearts Santa
We got up extra early this morning so that Julian could get his photo taken with Santa. Although, I’m sure the real Santa wouldn’t want $40 for 20 seconds on his lap, I can say that the experience and this precious photo are both priceless.

8 Weeks
Julian turned 8 weeks old this weekend. He has recently found that his fingers and hands make excellent pacifiers. As the doctor at the hospital said, “non-nutritive sucking devices”. He also has learned to poke his tongue out, which I must say is completely adorable. We buy him cupcakes every month for his birthday but he hasn’t eaten any. This weeks birthday consisted of 2...

Baby's first trip to the Seattle Zoo
We had an awesome time! Demetre and I had not been to this zoo yet, and Sunday was the perfect day to go. We were able to see all the animals at each exhibit, which was great. My favorite was the gorilla exhibit because there was a baby gorilla! It was so adorable hovering under his mama’s arm eating pumpkins.
Hipster Lullabies
For the last 6 weeks the most played song in our house has been the hit “Steady Rain with Womb Sounds” by Pediasleep. We have really grown accustom to sleeping with this sound at night and Julian has treated us to some amazing 5-6 hour sleeping sessions in return. Although Steady Rain may be a great soothing sound, it lacks a little in terms of musicality. Enter Rockabye Baby!...
4 Weeks!
Today was Julian’s 1 month birthday! Mom and Dad celebrated with cupcakes and Julian celebrated with his first bottle (supplied by Dad of course). Although he tried to blow out the candle on his cupcake he just couldn’t do it and Mom had to step in and save the day.
Julian also received an amazingly cute Ugly Doll and one of my favorite books, Where The Wild Things Are.

Lifesavers.
In the first few weeks there have been two things that have become instant hits in soothing Julian. The first of these items being simply an exercise ball. One of Jennifer’s clients gave us this wonderful gift and said she had great success using it to calm her baby. I’m not sure what it is about bouncing on this thing, but he loves it! I can try bouncing him while walking around the...

Happiest DVD On The Block
In preparation for Julian, Jennifer and I had bought a slew of books. One of which was, The Happiest Baby On The Block, by Dr. Harvey Karp. Karp’s method of calming a newborn is summed up in something he calls the 5 S’s, “Swaddling”, holding the baby on his “side”, saying “shhh” in the baby’s ear, “swinging” and...
Hospital Photos
After a long weekend we were finally released from the Birth Center yesterday night and are trying to adjust to life with Julian. He’s getting cuter by the second and we’re not getting any sleep because we just can’t stop staring at him. Now that we’re home I have posted some of the photos from the last few days.

Coming soon...
Our amazing friend Jenny was so kind to take some photos of Jennifer in all of her pregnant glory. Here are a few teasers from the photoshoot she sent over this weekend. We’ll be sure to post more really soon.

Baby Analytics
I stumbled on the site for the Trixie Tracker last night while looking for new iPhone applications. Now this might be a little too tech geek for most people, however, I think I could really use an application like this. It’s like having Google Analytics for your baby. Keep track of sleep times, bottles, diaper changing, breast feeding, pumping & milk inventory and so much more. Who...
Cravings
Buttermilk! Who knew I would actually drink this stuff?! I drank it straight up in a glass, mixed it with berries, and my latest is buttermilk ice cream. Yum!
Baby Shower!
Thank you to everyone who came to my Seattle baby shower! I’ve posted some photos for you to check out on our flickr page.

The Basics of Fatherhood
My friend Ben recommended an article he read in the New York Times on the Basics of Fatherhood by family therapist Marie Hartwell-Walker. It’s a quick read and has a lot of really great information and insight in the development of todays modern Dad.

Welcome to our crib
By far one of the most amazing and generous gifts we have received so far has been our crib and changing table from my Mom. After countless hours scouring the web and local stores for the perfect crib, we slowly but surely agreed on the Oeuf. The Oeuf (French for egg) is designed by a young French-American couple in Brooklyn, NY, and it’s simple modern design easily won us over. Another...
Phil & Ted Jogging Stroller
Although I can’t imagine us using this stroller from the get go. I think the 4 in 1 Sport jogging stroller from Phil & Ted is currently the top contender for jogging strollers. It has received rave reviews, is expandable to carry 2 children, and just plain looks cool. Now if we can just bring ourselves to jog, I think we’ll be on our way to a healthy future.

Peg Perego Car Seat & Stroller
We have recently just started to look at car seats and strollers. There are almost too many out there to choose from. Jennifer recently signed on for the Consumer Reports guide which has been an amazing resource for narrowing down the choices on almost everything we have been registering for. The Peg Perego line scores top marks in both car seats and strollers while still remaining relatively...
